Starting my BBG journey

my bbg journey

Hi there beautiful people! I hope you’re all having a Happy Halloween weekend! Haven’t spent much time on here because of my exhausting schedule lately.

This week I am finishing up week 3 of Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide. So many girls are jumping on the bandwagon and after a year of scrolling through all the transformation pictures I decided I wanted to be one of those girls.

In one of my recent posts I talk about the stress of working your first 8 to 5 and how I realized that I needed to do something about my activity level. I was going to work, which requires sitting at my desk for 9 hours ( if you add the hour break I use to eat my lunch at my desk), and not working out before or after my work day. After two months I saw a HUGE difference in my physique. I didn’t look or feel like the same person anymore, and thats why I started my BBG journey. I knew if I didn’t do something about it early on, it would only get worse and harder to get back into a workout routine.

I’m so happy I found this unique work out routine. Its so different than most because of the huge community of girls behind it. They are so inviting and supportive. The day I purchased the guide was the day I found out there was a Facebook page dedicated to BBG girls in the Raleigh area. I joined it and two days later I was invited to start the program with two other girls. We have been doing it together ever since. The reason I choose to workout with other girls is because I’m the kind of person that is 10x’s more motivated if I’m surrounded by people and friends. I lack motivation at home and my friends keep me accountable. Plus, I would feel terrible if I made up some excuse/reason telling them why I wouldn’t be able to make it. So i wake up at 5:40 to meet them 6:15 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesdays and Thursdays are dedicated for runs, and sundays is for rest and stretching.

However, if you are on of those people that like working out in the comfort of their home, this guide is also for you. Kayla designed it so that the moves you are doing don’t require much equipment. Its mostly plyo. The most you will ever need is some dumbbells, a jumprope ( however I just choose to skip), and a flat bench/sturdy table.

The guide is going so well for me that for the first time ever, I decided not go out for Halloween. Me and my boyfriend decided to stay in, save some money and not drink. The guide gives me huge motivation to stick to clean eating and choosing to stay in rather than going out to get some drinks with friends. Although this makes it harder to hang out with friends, in just three short weeks I have found that its totally worth it! It also encourages you to find friends that are fitness minded and are going to be supportive of your goals and what you’re trying to achieve.

Keep in mind that this is one of the more important aspects of the guide. You won’t get very far if you indulge in your regular bad eating habits and are surrounded by people that don’t understand your new lifestyle.

Hopefully this review will motivate someone to start their journey. Please feel free to ask any questions!
